Dragon’s Den

Friday 20 February 2009

Hi everyone,

Many many thanks to all that turned up last night in what proved a very entertaining evening, we had approximately 300 in attendance, which was impressive for a Thursday evening and for our first year to run the competition.

Commiserations to the 24 teams that did not receive a prize, some of these had particular mertit and serious commercial potential. I can only hope this hasn’t put you off entering any more competitions but made you more determined. All the entries should be applauded for their initiative and pro-activeness.

The overall winners of the €2,000 were Eoin O’ Shea, Tim Arnold and John O’ Reilly with their ‘Burreato’ Mexican food van.

The first Runners up prize of €500 went to Amy Coghlan with her Stylesense concept for a purse that fits inside a woman’s bra.

The second Runners up prize of €500 went to Freddy Culazzo and Hugh Hackett with their Eskimo Community card which is a loyalty card for local independent retailers.

If you liked what you saw or didn’t like what you saw last night maybe you might thinking about getting involved with the TES committee next year to make the event become bigger and better.

If last night whets your appetite for more try here: http://www.rte.ie/tv/dragonsden/
